Carrie Smith –
My osteopath installed two of these on the front of the receptionist’s counter, and they are terrific!
As anyone who relies on a walking stick or crutch will know (especially if your stick has an ergonomic handle and therefore no ‘hook’ shape) trying to find somewhere to hang or prop the stick can be very difficult and sometimes impossible. If you have to hold your stick in one hand while you’re getting out your purse or wallet, extracting your payment card, either inserting your card into the electronic payment gadget or waving it about over the reader, and often having to make a grab for the stick if it won’t stay where you’ve put it, can be a nightmare. It’s frustrating and embarrassing especially if you’re at the front of a queue, and the more flustered you get, the more likely it is that you’ll drop something and then be scared of falling if you have to bend to pick it up.
These little gadgets make dealing with payments and/or appointment cards, or signing a form, a breeze. I’ve just moved into a larger flat where I’m going to install at least two of these and I’d recommend them both for domestic use and for thoughtful, disability-conscious business owners to assist their disabled customers. Yes, they’re quite pricey, but I think they’re well worth it!
